Katie’s love for dance started as soon as her legs allowed it! She was three-years-old and - of course - in a tutu (which you can still find her sporting today!) at the Dance Studio of Wakefield where she fell in love with the art of dance. Her childhood was spent making up dances with her older sister, Brienne, and at the studio where she specialized in tap and jazz classes. It seems as though jumping around and waving her hands to the beat of the music was embedded in her soul and that passion only grew stronger as she grew up.

Her strong background in the dance world led her to cheerleading as a teen and young adult as she continued dancing her way to and pursuing her love of dance in college at UMass Amherst. 

Later, her passion for dance evolved into dance fitness - which is what truly makes her heart explode. She earned her certification in ZUMBA and that was where her teaching journey began. Through teaching fitness classes, she found joy in the idea of helping people change their lives and giving them a reason to love working out. Whether it was dancing off a bad day, shedding some pounds for bikini season, or even getting ready for the big day, the ability to impact other people’s lives through dance is euphoric for Katie. She is obsessed with making people smile and making people feel good about themselves – mind, body, soul. 

Through teaching ZUMBA, she realized that she was doing less of the hip-swaying and salsa movements, and more jumping jacks and high knees. This led her into the co-creation of EB Cardio Dance (along with The Energy Barre owner, Julianna Curtis) which has become her pride and joy as a fitness instructor. EB Cardio Dance is a high-intensity, full-body workout that is carefully constructed to boost your mood, heart rate, and self-esteem. When you walk into the studio and hear her say, “ARE YOU READY TO DANCE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING?” you know you have stepped into Katie’s world - where you get lost in the music and truly feel like you can jump right out of your comfort zone! 

Katie truly believes that fitness isn't all about looking good, it's about feeling good -- it's about setting personal goals that start with positive affirmation, energized spirit, and leaving class with a feeling of a full heart and empowered mindset. Being able to share her passion with others, is what truly sets her soul on fire.
